Obama Took In Most $$ in BP Donations

Remember, Obama and all other liberals are all about the little guy, keeping it real, sticking it to the man, and soaking the rich so that they will pay their fair share of taxes.

That's why liberals must take in millions of dollars in campaign contributions from oil companies: so that they can tell the rest of us to hate oil companies.

Seriously, though, this is totally congruent with the liberal democratic threats to heavily tax the oil industry (remember 2 years ago when oil was high, and oil companies made a lot of profit).
This is simply how the system works - a lawmaker must make laws to regulate an industry because that ensures they will then get donations from that industry. It's the best way for that industry to influence legislation.
So the fact that one of the most liberal senators, and now president, took in the most money out of everyone else from a big oil company makes total sense.

And notice how, in the quote below, that even though the Dems love campaign contribution limits, they all know that corporations, or anyone (George Soros?), can work around this limit any way via PACs. It's a big lie that liberals and democrats aren't interested in big money.

From Politico: Obama biggest recipient of BP cash

Quotes:
While the BP oil geyser pumps millions of gallons of petroleum into the Gulf of Mexico, President Barack Obama and members of Congress may have to answer for the millions in campaign contributions they’ve taken from the oil and gas giant over the years.

BP and its employees have given more than $3.5 million to federal candidates over the past 20 years, with the largest chunk of their money going to Obama, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Donations come from a mix of employees and the company’s political action committees — $2.89 million flowed to campaigns from BP-related PACs and about $638,000 came from individuals.

Victor Davis Hanson: We'd have laughed if Obama ran on what he's done

"Nonetheless, until now we had not in the postwar era seen a true man of the Left who was committed to changing America into a truly liberal state. Indeed, had Barack Obama run on the agenda he actually implemented during his first year in office — “Elect me and I shall appoint worthies like Craig Becker, Anita Dunn, and Van Jones; stimulate the economy through a $1.7-trillion annual deficit; take over health care, the auto industry, student loans, and insurance; push for amnesty for illegal aliens and cap-and-trade; and reach out to Iran, Russia, Syria, and Venezuela” — he would have been laughed out of Iowa. "
- Victor Davis Hanson

More quotes:
Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice were not paradigms of racial equality, as we once assumed. The new correct protocol of unity and togetherness is not to ignore race but to accentuate difference whenever possible. Thus we have a uniter and his flock talking of a “typical white person,” of white country folk who “cling” to their fears and superstitions, of “cowards” who refuse to discuss racial matters, of a “wise Latina,” of police who “stereotype” and act “stupidly,” and of polluters and high-school mass-murderers identified as typically “white.” In place of real civil-rights marches, we have psychodramas where congressmen wade into a crowd of protestors in search of a televised slur. To this president, the tea-partiers are sexually slurred “tea-baggers,” in his Manichean worldview of opponents to whom we are “to get in their faces” and “bring a gun” to their knife fight — all as we praise “unity,” “bipartisanship,” and “working across the aisle.”

Wow! Boy, do those Iranians love us now!

See? All of our liberal-persuasion friends were correct. If we only got Bush out of office, the Iranians would love us. We'd talk to them. They'd no longer hate us because the cowboy would be gone.

From Reuters...

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who Wednesday called President Barack Obama a nuclear-armed "cowboy", said Iran would "try to make an opportunity out of sanctions" rather than change its stance to avoid them.

Anything to look good in foreign policy

US signs nuke deal with... wait for it... the... Russians???
This is so '70's and '80's.

This is the most important treaty to be signed since the Liechtenstien-Switzerland peace treaty signed last month.

I love these "strategic arms reduction" agreements. It's like signing a treaty, the title of which is "Time to Get Rid of Some Old Nukes We Have Sitting Around."

Syria's Dictator Openly Mocks Sec. of State Clinton

Every day this administration becomes more of an embarrassment. They're lucky they're Democrats, otherwise this would be all over the media.

From Mona Charen on NRO: Mostly Hope : Optimism is not a foreign policy, as recent events have shown.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did make one request though — that Syria reciprocate for these gestures by distancing itself from Iran. Last week, Bashar Assad responded. Hosting Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, in Damascus, Assad ostentatiously signed a treaty of friendship with Iran and said of the secretary of state’s request, “I find it strange how they talk about Middle East stability and at the same time talk about dividing two countries.” Further mocking her, Assad joked, “We must have understood Clinton wrong because of bad translation or our limited understanding, so we signed the agreement.”

Weakness begets... disaster in foreign policy

Great article at the increasing awesome American Thinker on Obama's weakness in foreign policy.

Obama's willingness to abandon his own purported values is genuinely shocking. Russia has a pandemic problem of race murder, yet when Obama visited Moscow, he ignored it. When he met with Russian human rights leaders at the White House recently, they reported that he told them, "Human rights is not the only issue that he has to take into account. Security and trade are also important, and he can't help but try to engage the governments in order to achieve result in these spheres."

Your Tax Dollars At Work: Aborting Babies Overseas...

Almost two thirds of Americans don't want their tax dollars given to overseas organizations that provide abortions.

Yet that's what "centrists" presidents Clinton and now Obama have done and are doing, respectively.

That's right - the government takes a small percentage of what we all pay in taxes and that goes to abort babies in foreign countries. Just one of the many consequences of voting this man into office. I'll let you think about that one if you voted for him. I didn't.

Quotes from Gallup:

Further, Obama's decision to reverse the prohibition on funding for overseas family-planning providers may be the least popular thing he has done so far. This was an executive order that forbade federal government money from going to overseas family-planning groups that provide abortions or offer abortion counseling. Fifty-eight percent of Americans disapprove of Obama's decision to lift this ban, while only 35% approve of it. The ban on federal funds to these groups was put in place by Ronald Reagan, but lifted by Bill Clinton. George W. Bush re-instituted the ban after taking office in 2001, but Obama has once again lifted it.

Full story here.

The Daschle For The Exits

Those nominees of the Obama administration are dropping like flies. Democrats excel at creating massive burdens of tax laws. Less so talented are they at following the laws they create.

This is a great quote that says it all, from Breibart (full story here)...

In a letter released Monday, Daschle sought to explain how he overlooked taxes on income for consulting work and the use of a car service. He also deducted more in charitable contributions than he should have. He also met with Senate Finance Committee members behind closed doors.

"It was completely inadvertent..."

I'm not so offended by a Democrat like Daschle - who led the democrats in the Senate, and was therefore one of the most powerful men on earth - would abuse the public trust by writing complicated and punitive tax laws, and then turning around and breaking those laws.

I'm more offended by the "oh, it was inadvertent" crap. And the red glasses. Those just have to go. Red glasses???? Were they a prize from that morning's breakfast cereal?

Why Not "Culture of Corruption" Now?

Funny how we've heard no media mantra of "culture of corruption".

Chicago, the city that brought you the John F. Kennedy presidency after his daddy bought votes there, has apparently always been a cesspool of political corruption.

Jonah Goldberg has some seriously funny (eh?) things to say about it in his column: A Little Blago for Everybody. I had no idea this guy was this funny...

Oh, last thing, in no way is Obama connected to any of this graft, and he in no way was influenced by the corrupt machine that made him powerful. Nope. Not a bit. Getting all his opponents in the state senate race thrown off the ballot - leaving only him - was his own idea and kind of a fluke. So don't even ask or think about it...

Quotes:

For the more historically minded, it's a time for nostalgia. The past comes alive as Chicago's grand tradition of corruption is sustained for another generation. As the Chicago Tribune once wrote, "corruption has been as much a part of the landscape as corn, soybeans and skyscrapers." According to the Chicago Sun-Times, as of 2006, when Blago's predecessor, George Ryan, was sent to prison for racketeering, 79 elected officials had been convicted of corruption in the past 30 years. Among the perps: 27 aldermen, 19 judges, 15 state legislators, three governors, two congressmen, one mayor, two turtledoves and a partridge in a stolen pear tree. Especially in this holiday season, it's so very important to keep traditions alive for the kids. In a sense, Blago did it for the children.

For partisans, there's the schadenfreude that comes with watching the Democrats -- self-proclaimed anti-corruption zealots in recent years -- explain why Blagojevich shouldn't be lumped in with Congressmen Charlie Rangel (cut himself sweetheart deals), William Jefferson ($90,000 in his freezer) and Tim Mahoney (tried to bribe an aide he was sleeping with not to sue him; and you thought romance was dead) as part of a new Democratic "culture of corruption" storyline.

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., himself the son of a shakedown artist, is alleged to have offered (through a minion) a half-million bucks for Barack Obama's vacant senate seat. Jackson replaced former Rep. Mel Reynolds, who went to jail for getting jiggy with a 16-year-old campaign staffer and stayed in jail because of various fraud convictions. Reynolds, in turn, was the "reformer" who had replaced Rep. Gus Savage, the thug-congressman who groped a Peace Corps volunteer in Zaire while on a "fact-finding" trip. Savage held off Reynolds' attempts to replace him for several years by claiming Reynolds was financed by "racist Jews."

Man, what isn't there to love about Chicago politics?

How Obama Got Elected

"I think I'm not as informed as I thought I was... but I still don't think I would change my vote."
- Obama supporter

The filmmaker who made this film commissioned a poll from Zogby, a major poll company.
So his point is that his film, though showing a small sampling of Obama voters, corroborates the poll of over 500 people.

The results are astonishing, but not surprising. The film shows a number of Obama voters who are totally ignorant about politics in general - they new almost nothing of the democratic leaders - but who can recite the common slurs regarding Gov. Sarah Palin. They had no idea about any of the misgivings about Obama.

The point is, people really are influenced by that far-left, major media. The major media are controlled by people who are about 90% democrats. Watch as the interviewees say that they get their news from PBS, NY Times, CNN, MSNBC, Jon Stewart, Colbert Report, etc.

Here is the data from the Zogby Poll----------------

512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points

97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates

Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions

57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)

71.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)

82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)

88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)

56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).

And yet.....

Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes

Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter

And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!

Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.

Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we "gave" one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)

The Obama Presidency: A Racist's Dream

How many Barack Obamas will be aborted during Barack Obama's presidency? We'll never know, because they won't live out their lives for us to find out.

The truth is, electing Obama into the office of the president must be a dream come true for the hate-filled white supremacist crowd. Imagine a plot to kill off thousands of African Americans. And not just in one decade or even in one year. How about every day? Even if all white supremacists took up arms and went on a collective rampage, there's no way they'd even come close to killing 1,000 people in one day.

Yet somewhere around 1,400 African Americans will lose their lives every day of the Obama presidency due to abortion. If he serves two terms, that will be about 4 million African Americans killed. Out of a total of 12 million people.

With Barack Obama as president, we'll likely get two replacement ultra-liberals on the Supreme Court, replacing Ruth Bader Ginsburg (75), and John Paul Stevens (88).

No doubt McCain wouldn've appointed orginalist judges who'd correctly see that there is nothing in the constitution as regards a "right to choose" abortion, and turn the matter over to the states of the union.

But now, that hope is gone - and maybe for a generation or more.

Who in this election did not know that the President would be choosing Supreme Court justices? Everyone knows this.

Read this damning paragraph from Human Events:
The statistics on African American abortions are shocking. Even though African Americans are only about 13 percent of the U.S. population, one of every three abortions in the United States is performed on a black woman. Three of every five African American women will abort a child. Some 1,452 African American babies are killed each day in abortions. Let’s compare these statistics to the number of African Americans who have been killed by crimes of racial violence. Statistics show that between 1882 and 1968, 3,446 blacks were lynched in the United States. That number is bypassed by the number of African American abortions every three days. Let’s project the favorable consequences had the aborted babies been allowed to live. Had the 13 million babies aborted since Roe v. Wade in 1973 been allowed to live, today’s African American population of 37 million could reasonably be projected to exceed 50 million today. In other words, today’s potential African American population has been reduced 25 percent by abortions. And the 13 million African American abortions are estimated to have enriched the U.S. abortion industry by some $4 billion since Roe v. Wade.

They've stopped executions of murderers in California because those involved thought putting them to sleep first was cruel and unusual. Cruel and unusual: look up how abortion procedures are carried out - on human beings that can feel every bit of pain that we can - and see if you think it's cruel and unusual.

HRC as SoS? OMG!!!

Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State? You've got to be kidding me.

And what experience, besides her husband's connections, does she bring to that job? Not much. Some overseas trips, during which she indeed was not shot at, and that's about it.

There's no way. No way Obama could trust her, no way it could work.

This is Obama's attempt to placate all the Hilaryites who are mad at him for not even vetting her for the Veep slot. Well, now he's vetting her. Happy?

Dick Morris on FoxNews had some astonishing things to say about this - about how Hillary is the one who leaked this - not the Obama camp. How Bill has taken in $130 million from one foreign government alone for his library. $130 million??? That should buy a lot of books and Clinton memorabilia I would think. Especially after he's already raised tens of millions elsewhere. Must be some library.

Think of all the fun Hillary would have missed if she really had stayed home and baked cookies. And who can forget that moment... Ah, I miss the chubby version of Bill Clinton...

Quote of The Day: Respect

For now, we have a new president-elect. In the spirit of reaching across the aisle, we owe it to the Democrats to show their president the exact same kind of respect and loyalty that they have shown our recent Republican president.

The Devil Is In the Details? Rahm Emanuel...

“Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long.”
- President-elect Obama, Victory Speech
"[The Republicans] can go f*** themselves!"
- President-elect Obama's second in Command, Rahm Emanuel

Choosing Rahm Emanuel as his right-hand man - one of the most partisan and divisive figures in the country - is an interesting first step of President-elect Obama.

"Emanuel" means "God with us."

But Obama may have gotten a little devil in Rahm Emanuel - Obama's choice for Chief of Staff at the White House.

If the President is the CEO of the nation, the Chief of Staff is like the COO. It's a key position in the administration in which one may be the senior adviser, policy creator, gateway to the President, negotiator with congress, manager of the schedule, and manager of all the white house staff - not the cooking and cleaning, but the policy makers.

Emanuel worked in the Clinton administration. So President Change has selected Partisan HotHead Washington Insider as his number 2 guy. And what a lovely little pussycat Emanuel is.

Here's a quote from newsmax.com:
Emanuel once sent a dead fish to a pollster who displeased him. In one meeting with his staff, Emanuel shouted out, “Since my kids are gone, I can say it: They [Republicans] can go f--- themselves!

And, wow, does Dick Morris have some interesting things to say about Rahm Emanuel. Morris was for a quite a while at the very center of the Clinton Administration, where Emanuel also served - so Morris is very familiar with Rahm Emanuel.

Clinton apparently couldn't even trust Emanuel, though Emanuel was on his staff. He chided Dick Morris for giving information to him, knowing it would leak to the press for self-serving purposes.

Some quotes from Fox News:
"Rahm is in business for Rahm".

"Clinton never told the truth to Emanuel. He constantly cut Rahm out, he was afraid of him, because Rahm was always in business for Rahm."

"He (Rahm) formulates the Democratic position."

"Obama is making a huge mistake in appointing this guy."

However, I do note that Mr. Emanuel is taking on a more conciliatory tone this weekend in The Wall Street Journal. Fox News also reported on election night that the Obama campaign analyzed the mistakes of the Clinton administration's first two years, and Obama's camp is determined to not overreach. Meaning, they want to do more, but they know the public won't let them.

I think Ann Coulter is right - Democrats on the national stage only win by running as Republicans.

Fox News Sticks Up For Obama; Darth Nader Speaks...

Can Ralph Nader please just go away?

He's accusing Obama of selling out - this is a guy, Nader, who lives in an ultra-rich neighborhood, but thinks he can identify with poor people. He's irrelevant and and a sore loser (you probably didn't even know that, yes, he was a presidential candidate this year). Bye, Ralph.

Now, when have the monolith ABCCBSNBCBNEWYORKTIMES crowd EVER stood up for Bush in the face of all of those unhinged crackpots (and even those that
aren't in congress)?

But Fox News can stand up for Obama in the face of undue criticism and epithets.

I quoth Ralph:
"His choice is whether he's going to be Uncle Sam for the people of this country, or Uncle Tom for the giant corporations."

Loonie crackpot.
